Reed LoRenzo Shannon
Reed LoRenzo Shannon trained at the North Carolina Theatre Conservatory and dreamed of becoming a professional singer, actor, and dancer since he was four years old.
This actor’s dreams have come true! Reed was cast in Broadway’s First National Tour of “Motown the Musical”, in the role of Young Berry Gordy, Young Stevie Wonder, and Young Michael Jackson. At the age of thirteen, Reed originated the touring role, performing in twenty two cities over a sixteen month period (March 2014 – June 2015), and he received extraordinary mentions in reviews across the United States of America!
Reed began his professional career on the main stage at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium in the North Carolina Theatre production of “Oliver!” (2012 – Workhouse Boy). Less than two years later, he was cast in the NCT production of “Les Misérables” (2014 – Gavroche)!
He performed roles in NC Theatre Conservatory Master Summer Theatre Arts School's productions of "Crazy For You" (2015 - Custus the Cowboy), "In The Heights" (2013 - Sonny), and "Who's Tommy" (2012 - Youngest Tommy).
Reed is a ninth grade student enrolled at Burbank High School (Los Angeles, California), who has been educated in the Wake County (NC) public school system, and Great Expectations Home School through On Location Education, while he toured with Motown the Musical.
ReedLo spends his free time reading, singing, instagramming, snapchatting, singing, facetiming, singing, doing homework (hmm), x boxing, skateboarding, scootering, tweeting, and preparing to be called upon to appear on Saturday Night Live!
He is an avid traveler who learned the basics of boating, golfing, and tying knots in a four week sleep away summer camp at the age of 9; and spent three weeks in China, at the age of 12, immersed in a language and culture youth summer camp. (He snuck and sang for tips outside of the Terracotta Warriors Museum in Xi’an, China).
Reed is a member of Baptist Grove Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, a charter student/member of the Cornel West Academy of Excellence (CWAE), a member of the Raleigh Durham Black MBA Association Leaders of Tomorrow (LoT), and a member of the South Central Wake County (NC) NAACP Youth Council. His extra-curricular activities have also included serving as a Boy Scout, playing on four community baseball teams, and he was in the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity African American Leaders of Tomorrow (AALoT) mentoring program.
Reed plans to earn a college degree in fine arts and a college degree in international relations. He plans to become bilingual, and train to become an international spy, and also wants to become an attorney and serve his country as an officer in the United States Army.
Reed LoRenzo Shannon loves the frequent opportunities he has to speak to audiences and share his experiences, and he is learning to tap dance, and play the guitar, the keyboard, and the harmonica.

He appreciates his family, his performing arts instructors and NCT family, his Baptist Grove Church family, his LoT and AALoT families, the Magellan Charter School and Wakefield Middle School supporters, and he loves his Motown the Musical family!
